Photos: Kaduna Bomb Blast, leaves Relatives searching Hospitals for loved ones

People yesterday trooped to various hospitals in Kaduna in search of their loved ones who might have been affected by the blast that killed at least 10 and injured many others.
Our reporters who went round some hospitals in Kaduna metropolis, saw many sympathizers moving from one hospital to the other in search of their missing relations.
Some of the victims of the blast were taken to St. Gerald Hospital, Rakiya Memorial Hospital and Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital.
One of the victims that was taken to St. Gerald Hospital had severe skin burns and was moved to the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Shika, Zaria.
At the Rakiya Memorial Hospital, four victims were admitted, including the mother of the 3-year-old boy who died in the blast. Three of the victims taken to the Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital were identified as Suleiman Ibrahim, Tochukwu, who was in a critical condition when our reporters visited, and Regiana Gabriel, who is among the many town-sweepers employed by the state government.
Many corpses were also deposited at the Barau Dikko Hospital.
Several people were seen crying while others were busy searching for their loves ones at the various hospitals visited.
“I’ve gone to the mortuary but can’t recognise any one. Some of them were burnt beyond recognition,” Said Nnamdi Chukwudi, a trader searching for his colleague at the St. Gerald Hospital.
“I’m here searching for some of my colleagues. I was not around when the incident happened but three of my colleagues are missing. I have gone to some hospitals without seeing them but someone advised me to come down here (Rakiya Memorial Hospital),” Richard Nwokobi said.
The Public Relations Officer of St. Gerald Hospital, Sunday Ali John, said most of the victims were in a serious condition adding, “we may move any one that is in critical condition to Zaria because some have lost the outer layer of their body. It is unfortunate incident but our doctors have administered some relief medication and we are currently looking for ambulances to take the victims to Zaria.”
Another victim, whose name was given as Mohammed Babangida by his brother, sustained severe burns in the blast. Babangida was said to be repairing electric generator when the incident happened and was taken to the Rakiya Memorial Hospital
Speaking to Daily Trust, the Chief Medical Director of the Rakiya Memorial Hospital, Dr Mohammed Bello, said some of the victims were brought to the hospital without outer layers of their bodies.
“So far, we have treated them but some came with severe pains, so we’re trying to remove the dead tissues and administer pain relievers and antibiotics to stabilise them. But one of them, his condition is very serious so we are trying to transfer him to a bigger hospital,” Dr Bello said.
