President Jonathan sacks Defense Minister & National security Adviser

There are indications that the defense minister and the National security adviser to the president has been relieved of their duties. The reports made available states that, the presidency has taken a strict decision to overhaul the security outfits in Nigeria.The shakeup is likely to affect every all the Nigerian security agencies as there is livelihood more security chiefs would be relieved of their positions

He appointed Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd) to replace General Andrew Owoye Azazi as the new National Security Adviser (NSA). Mr. Jonathan also dropped Minister of Defense, Haliru Bello, from his cabinet with immediate effect.Mr. Dasuki had previously overseen the Nigerian mint. A source said he was also one of those who opposed the late Nigerian dictator, Sani Abacha.
