President Jonathan declares 3 days of National mourning

Nigerian President announces 3 days of national mourning, directs that flag be flown at half-mast and cancels Monday appointments.

According to the Nation, in a statement on the incident by his spokesman, Reuben Abati, President Jonathan has cancelled all his public engagements scheduled for tomorrow, and has also directed that the Nigerian flag be flown at half-mast for the three days of national mourning.

He has ordered full investigation into the crash. In compliance with the President’s directive, Abati said  the Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah has already left Abuja for Lagos to oversee the crash investigations and present an interim report to the federal government as soon as possible.

While condoning with the families of  all those who lost their lives in the plane crash, the President noted that the incident  has sadly plunged the nation into further sorrow on a day when Nigerians were already in grief over the loss of many other innocent lives in the church bombing in Bauchi State.
May God comfort all the families of victims!
