A Turkish woman returned home in Abu Dhabi only to find her African housemaid waiting for her with a knife.She pushed the maid and fled to another room but the maid chased her and smashed a bottle on her head.The woman was saved from the mad maid when she managed to reach her apartment’s balcony and screamed for help.
Police later arrived and arrested the maid while the Turkish woman was taken to hospital.The maid told police she attacked the lady because is not on her sponsorship and she has not paid her promised wage for four months.
“Both women will be prosecuted. The maid was accused of attacking the housewife, stealing her money, working for another sponsor and staying in the country illegally. The Turkish woman was charged with violating the labour law by hiring the maid who is not on her sponsorship,” Al Ittihad daily said
