Wolves sack McCarthy

Wolves have sacked manager Mick McCarthy in a bid to avoid the drop from the Barclays Premier League.
The Molineux side are third bottom after their humiliating 5-1 home defeat by rivals West Brom on Sunday.
Wolves fans vented their anger towards the directors box during the game and a couple of hundred demonstrated outside the ground long after the final whistle.

Rafa Benitez, Steve Bruce, Neil Warnock and Alan Curbishley are among the early contenders for the vacancy.McCarthy cleared his office at the club on Monday afternoon and said he hoped that Wolves stay up.He said: 'I just want to thank everyone for what has been nearly six wonderful years
