Wife cut off husband penis and threw it in garbage disposal

A woman arrested for drugging her husband before cutting off his penis and throwing it into the garbage disposal was angry about an impending divorce.
Catherine Becker, 48, is said to have made her husband dinner at their California home on Monday night and put an unknown poison or drug in the food to make him pass out.
When he woke up, he was tied to a bed and could not move while his wife took a 10 inch knife to his genitalia before throwing the organ into the garbage disposal and turning it on, police said.
'The victim told our detectives that she (Catherine Becker) is very upset about the divorce,' Garden Grove police Lt. Jeff Nightengale told RadarOnline.
Authorities were called to the couple's home in Garden Grove, just south of Los Angeles, after Becker called 911 reporting a medical emergency.

When officers arrived, they found her husband - who is not being named - bleeding from his crotch.
The 51-year-old man was rushed late Monday to UC Irvine Medical Center, where he underwent emergency surgery yesterday.
'The victim is doing surprisingly good given what he has been through,' Lt Nigtengale said.
The hospital, who have listed him in good condition, have declined to release any further details.
While searching the home, officers found a knife and a rope.
Lieutenant Jeff Nightengale said the couple were married but had begun divorce proceedings.
After officers arrived at the scene and saw the man suffering, Ms Becker allegedly told them he 'deserved it'.
'The intention by this person was to permanently deprive this victim of his genitalia,' lieutenant Nightengale said.

'She has refused to talk, which is her right. Once she was read her Miranda rights, Ms. Becker invoked her right not to say anything. She will be in court this afternoon for her arraignment,' Lt. Nightengale said.
The Orange County Register told the Los Angeles Times: 'This is a private matter.'
Becker is now being held at the Orange County jail facing arraignment Wednesday afternoon.
'She is looking at an aggravated mayhem charge, because she planned the crime, and the victim could be permanently harmed because of the alleged crime,' Lt. Nightengale said.
'If Ms. Becker is convicted of aggravated mayhem, she could be facing life behind bars, without the possibility of parole.'
It has yet to be dertermined what charges she will face
