Husband stabbed wife to death after she refused his offer of a cup of tea

A husband was jailed for life today for stabbing his wife to death in a 'silly row' when she refused his offer of a cup of tea.Retired lorry driver Dewi Evans, 61, knifed wife Jackie in a 'spontaneous eruption of violence' when she refused his offer of an afternoon brew.
A court heard Evans had become 'jealous and obsessed' over Jackie, 57, his wife of 41 years
Evans had accused the mother-of-two of seeing other men and had even tracked her daily movements with binoculars.

The pair were at home together watching afternoon TV when Evans became furious when Jackie refused his offer of a cup of tea.He picked up a knife and plunged it into her neck, leaving her to die in a pool of blood on her living room floor.
The couple's son Carl found her body and ran out of the house shouting: 'My mother is stretched out. My father has stabbed my mother.'

Evans told police he and his wife had a 'silly row' over a cup of tea and he picked up a lock-knife to frighten her.
Swansea Crown Court heard Jackie suffered four deep stab wounds to the throat, one even penetrating the upper spine.
Evans, of Pontyberem, Carmarthenshire, denied murder claiming his wife's behaviour had made him lose control.
But he was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison with as recommendation he serves a minimum 11 years.
Judge Mr Justice Lloyd Jones told Evans: 'What happened was a spontaneous eruption of violence.
'Your wife's pointless death has cast a shadow over members of your family. The effect of what you have done has been devastating.'
A Dyfed Powys Police spokesman said after the case: 'This has been a very difficult time for the family and those close to them. Our thoughts remain with them.'
