Nigeria goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has officially joined French champions Lille on a three-year contract from Hapoel Tel Aviv"LOSC and Vincent Enyeama reached an agreement Wednesday on a three-year contract. The Nigerian international goalkeeper of Hapoel Tel Aviv will be with the club Lille until 2014," a statement on the club website read.
The 28 year old, who has spent the last six years in Israel, says he turned down offers from England and Spain in order to continue playing in the UEFA Champions League.
"My dream is to make my name heard all over Europe," Enyeama said.
"I had some offers in England and Spain, but I preferred to join Lille which is a great club. "Here, I would have the opportunity to participate in the Champions League."
His elder brother Philip also plays in France, and the NIgeria assistant captain says that played a part, along with advise from former Lille striker Osaze Odemwingie.
"He (Odemwningie) talked a lot about the club and said a lot of positive things. He told me I would meet some very interesting people.
"My brother (Philip, who plays for Wasquehal ES) lives in the metropolis.
"All these reasons have convinced me to sign."
