Britain: Hottest October day for 100 years

Today has officially been declared Britain’s most scorching October day in more than a century.The Met Office confirmed today was the hottest October day since records began in 1910 with a temperature of 29.9c (85.82f) recorded in Gravesend, Kent. And a spokeswoman confirmed the heatwave was set to continue for at least another two days. The previous hottest October was in 1985 and recorded in March, Cambridgeshire
