Chief Akin Omoboriowo the former Deputy governor Of Ondo State whose election in 1983 led to a major political crisis that presumably brought an end to the second republic died yesterday in Lagos at the age of 81.Omoboriowo, who has been off the political scene since he quit as deputy governor, In an interview with The Nation last month, Omoboriowo said he quit politics to be closer to God.He told The Nation: "Politically, I am not active, not because I am sick or weak. "But I am not indifferent to what happens around me. "Politicians come around and ask for my advice."
