Aston Villa captain diagnosed with acute Leukaemia

Aston villa Football Club footballer Stiliyan Petrov has been reportedly diagnosed with acute Leukaemia, just a week after the Arsenal away game.

Petrov was reported to have complained of feeling ill after his last game at the Emirate Stadium last weekend. He has since then stopped training.
On Wednesday March 28, Petrov underwent blood tests and was confirmed to be suffering from acute Leukaemia. Leukaemia is a type of cancer of the blood or bone marrow characterized by an abnormal increase of immature white blood cells.

McLeish said: ‘It’s that old perspective cliche, but it’s so true, and everybody here is behind Stan and a lot of the guys, everybody, will be shocked by the news.‘‘But he’s a captain, he’s a leader, he’s a defiant guy and he’s fought many battles on the pitch and I’m sure this is another one he’ll win.
