Woman gives birth to dead septuplets

A Saudi woman in her fifth month pregnancy spent three days at hospital spitting seven infants out of her uterus one after another but all of them came out dead in the absence of proper treatment.
Fatima Al Gamdi was rushed to a small hospital in the southwestern town of Baha after feeling excruciating pain before she was taken by an ambulance to the bigger King Fahd Hospital on Tuesday.
A few hours later, she was in labour but there was no specialist to deliver her. With the help of a general practitioner, she kept pushing until one 150-gm boy came out but died minutes later.
On the next day, the gynecologist was on his way to hospital at night when he was told two more babies came out but all were dead.
On the third day, doctors attending to Fatima decided that three more infants were still inside the woman’s uterus.
“It was a big surprise when four infants came out at the same time…but doctors could not save them,” Sharq daily said.
“During her three-day stay at King Fahd Hospital, Fatima gave birth to five boys and two girls but none of them stayed alive.”
Her husband, Mohammed Al Gamdi, blamed the hospital for the death of his seven twins, adding that he had sent an e mail to the health minister but that he had received no response.
“What also upset me is the condition of our government hospitals…they had examined my wife before and should have kept her under their supervision instead of sending her back home…the long trip we took to the hospital contributed to her ordeal.”
The paper quoted Fatima as saying:”My dreams to see what I have carried inside me have been shattered…I had already changed my house’s furniture to receive the most beautiful dream that any woman has…but this destiny…God the Almighty gives and takes.”
