Owerri - Fake Catholic nun arrested

A middle aged lady was yesterday arrested at Saint Mulumba’s Catholic Parish, Owerri, for not only impersonating a Catholic nun but was also accused of dubiously fleecing unsuspecting Nigerians of varying sums of money.
The lady, who was wearing the habit of one of the congregations in the Catholic Church at the time of her arrest, equally had no fewer than seven identity cards that depicted her as belonging to the  various establishments.

Speaking exclusively to Sunday Vanguard, the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Justin Okoro, said he was suspicious of the lady at first sight and asked probing questions to know more about her person and where she was coming from.
“When she was not forthcoming, I quickly recalled that the Sisters of the Needy had at various times complained that somebody had been fleecing unsuspecting people in the name of their congregation”, Okoro said.
Continuing ,the Catholic priest said that “a thorough search of the luggage she was carrying was most revealing, adding that several bank tellers and varying documents were recovered.
“I quickly invited the police to pick her up and interrogate her with a view to ascertaining what her mission has been, and if necessary, apprehend all other persons connectedwith her nefarious activities”, Okoro said.
