A Miss World contestant was stripped of her crown because she gained just six pounds in weight, she claimed.Stunning Cynthia de la Vega, 19, came second at the Nuestra Belleza Mundo Mexico beauty pageant last September - the country’s equivalent of Miss England.
"[They] demanded that I lose a few kilos, but they never provided a nutritionist or any other assistance to ensure the weight loss.De la Vega admitted she had put on some weight, but was working hard with personal trainer Luis Rangel to shift the six pounds. She also said she wasn’t aware of any weight requirements for the competition. The organisers of Nuestra Belleza Mexico defended their decision. National director for the pageant, Lupita Jones, said in a statement that De la Vega was axed because of her “lack of dedication and discipline."She "did not comply with the recommendations and goals agreed upon for her preparation", they said.De la Vega will be replaced at Miss World, held in London, by Gabriela Palacio.
