The father of Nicolas Sarkozy has said the French president's wife, Carla Bruni, is expecting a child, according to a German newspaper.Quoted Pal Sarkozy as saying: "The two do not want to know the gender in advance, but I'm sure it will be a girl and as beautiful as Carla."
Speculation has been widespread in recent weeks that the 43-year-old Italian-born model-turned-singer was pregnant.
